I witnessed something tonight that inspired me to create a fucking tumblr. 

After a lovely day filled with mystical snowy wonderfulness and the promise of a delay in school tomorrow, I decided to stay up late tonight. I took an ambien and had some cough syrup, not the greatest idea, but I thought I needed it. Anyone who knows me, knows how I react to jawns like that: I pretty much doing weird, crazy stupid stuff. I was in such a haze, I decided to bundle up, put in my ipod, and play in the silent snow- despite the fact it was 12:30 am.

It was amazing. Dumbfounding. And most of all, brilliant. God really knows what “He’s” doing when “He” does shit. I just ran around like a little kid on a sugar high jumping into huge piles of snow and digging into the mounds of plowed white all around the church parking lot. The feeling of God/the Universe was within and all around me; it was truly bliss.

But to my main point of this post- I saw snow lightning. The atmosphere was completely still and silent. It simply appeared! The entire sky became red and all the light seemed to have gotten sucked into one point in the sky towards the east. Immediately after, the sky repeated itself but this time with green. It lasted twice as long as the red, maybe 3 seconds more, and it spun back to the same point in the eastern sky. It was absolutely the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. God was really with me. The lightning happened a few more times, repeating the same pattern of colors and spirals towards the eastern above.

I’m glad I took no pictures because this sighting is much better left a memory to remember.
